Whitechapel

Whitechapel

Gently reared in rural England, Claire St. Martin refuses to resign herself to the fiasco her marriage has turned into and sets out to create a new life, a colossal ambition for a woman living in Victorian London. She finds both employment and a safe haven from the dregs that inhabit Whitechapel’s streets at Henderson’s Domestics, an agency that supplies London’s upper classes with temporary domestic help. As the staff are transported about London in Mrs. Henderson’s refurbished omnibus, none connect their driver, the mysterious Mr. Smith, with the murderous deeds of that most famous of serial killers, Jack the Ripper.
